
Pavithra Bhat is a counselling psychologist with an MSc in Clinical Psychology from CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore. She has two years of experience working across community and clinical settings, with expertise in counselling, psychological assessment, case history documentation, qualitative research, and academic writing.
She is currently part of the Department of Neurology at NIMHANS as Project Technical Support–III for an ICMR-funded study titled “Development of a skill-based neurocognitive testing protocol to assess cognition and diagnose dementia in a context of complex skills and low literacy.” Her work focuses on exploring cognitive and psychological resilience within India’s weaving communities, examining the role of cultural identity, social interdependence, skilled sensorimotor practices, and creative traditions in cognitive ageing.
Her research interests lie in developmental neuropsychology and qualitative inquiry, with an emphasis on culturally grounded, community-based approaches to understanding cognition and brain health.
